Safety Month PREVIEW

In honor of National Youth Sports Safety Month this April, Steel Sports has launched Strong as Steel Safety Month. April will be filled with weekly content, interactive panels, tips and tools to promote safety in athletics, in the workplace and overall health. Be sure to follow Steel Sports all April long on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn for daily content.

Women's History Month

Throughout the month of March, Steel Sports celebrated Women's History Month with our influential advisory board members, coaches, staff and athletes. Led by our IDEALS committee and Women of Steel initiative, we are committed to advocating for, promoting and providing opportunities in sports for women. STEEL SPORTS CO-HOSTS USA BASEBALL COACHING CLINICS

Steel Sports co-hosted two USA Baseball Community Coaching Clinics on March 18 in Philadelphia and March 19 in Long Island. These clinics provide coaches with the opportunity to learn and grow by networking with local coaches while participating in on-field demonstrations. The clinics are free to coaches at any level of the game, as well as any baseball parents or enthusiasts. Former professional baseball players Keith Osik and Dan Kennedy presented for Steel Sports.

PIZZA WITH THE PROS

Steel Sports President and CEO Martin Brown joined Rowan University's "Pizza with the Pros" on March 21, a unique networking opportunity for the school's students to learn from industry professionals. Martin shared his learning experiences throughout his career, how the four Core Values lead Steel Sports, internship opportunities, our Xplore program and more.

Steel United California Joins Prestigious League

Steel United CA is proud to join the Elite Academy League for the U11-U19 Boys teams which offers our players development and competition at the highest level. Our South Bay teams will have National exposure as we demonstrate our core values of Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, and Commitment. Steel United was the only club accepted into the Elite Academy League this year, and they will be the only EAL club in the South Bay.

STEEL UNITED CA 2005 ELITE WINs IN VEGAS, CLIMBS INTO TOP 100 NATIONALLY

Steel United CA 2005 Elite team were crowned champions of the top flight of the prestigious Las Vegas Players College Showcase on March 11-13. This tournament draws top competition and top college scouts from around the country, and the 2005 team ended the tournament with three wins, one draw and a +8 goal differential on the weekend against top teams from NY, IL, MN and FL.

Coached by 2022 Regional Coach of the Year, Kevin Gallaugher, the team has a record of 30 wins, 4 draws and only 1 loss in their last 35 games, many at some of the toughest tournaments in the country. They continue to climb in the rankings, now sitting at #72 nationally and #7 in the elite Southern California Region (on Youth Soccer Rankings). The team were also undefeated champions of their SOCAL Discovery NPL League, and have thereby clinched a berth to the NPL Western Regional Championships in Colorado in June. Steel Sports congratulates the players, coach Kevin, and the parents for their continued achievements which have required a lot of hard work and commitment by all involved, and which elevate Steel United as a club on a national level.

CULTURE TRAINING

All Steel Sports regions underwent Culture Training sessions in March led by Steve Jones, Senior VP of the Steel Sports Coaching System. Each group had engaging discussions on Steel Sports' culture characteristics, national rituals, mission and value added programs.

Steel Sports also partnered with Dunmore, a Steel Partners Business Unit, to provide a workshop on establishing a positive and inclusive culture through improved communication and positive developmental relationships in their Bristol and Brewster facilities.

TEAM STEEL CALIFORNIA PROVIDES OPENING DAY FUN

Team Steel California took part in Hermosa Beach Little League's Opening Day on March 5 as our coaches took players through hitting, velocity, running and throwing stations. It was a fun day for all the kids, families and coaches to kick off the baseball and softball seasons!
