Content Info For The Week

Math (Swindell, Beasley, and Meeks):

Students will be converting standard form equations into slope-intercept equations. After we learn how to convert from one equation to another, scholars will begin converting the equations in order to graph the linear function.

Algebra I (Meeks):

We will continue working with ponential functions. Exponential functions include exponential growth and exponential decay. We will explore the formulas for exponential growth and decay in order to calculate the growth or decay over time. We will translate exponential functions and identify the characteristics of the function.

ELA (Styron and Barker):

This week students will analyze how a particular scene develops the setting in a story, describe how characters respond or change as the plot moves forward toward a resolution, and use active reading, viewing, and listening as they continue working through their individualized and differentiated app segments and continue reading their selected novels.

ELA (Lee):

This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will continue their analysis of Hidden Figures. We will examine the text for the usual elements of plot— characterization, theme, etc. We will also be analyzing additional articles and short texts to provide context for the historical events mentioned in the novel.

9th Grade Lit (Lee):

This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will continue their analysis of Hidden Figures. We will examine the text for the usual elements of plot— characterization, theme, etc. We will also be analyzing additional articles and short texts to provide context for the historical events mentioned in the novel.

Science (Carver and Lewis):

Students will be exploring labs this week in order to see how wave properities are affected in transverse and longitudinal waves. On Wednesday/ Thursday students will complete a lab on sound waves. Students will end the week with a quiz over waves.

Social Studies (MacArthur and Lewis):

This week in Mr. MacArthur's class, studenst will be testing over Unit 7 and the New South. Later this week, students will start on Unit 8 over World War I, the Great Depression, and WWII.
