...Through the images already known from other contexts or created specifically for the project, one finds a shared photographic attitude: the photographers show the hidden connections of reality according to their own worldviews, rendering the images meaningful both to them and to the viewers...

…The color blue, also known as the symbol of autism, appears differently in every image: sometimes subtly hidden, sometimes prominent, from the blue of the sky to the blue of the globe-ball...

...The selected works each represent a distinct world, and together, like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, they form the exhibition as a whole...

…We have considered autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and its many manifestations organic to the world and life. Through the selected images, we virtually present parallels to this organicity in regard to embracing the world and representing reality as a photograph…

For the first time in Hungary, limited-edition photo puzzles are made from the selected photographs. The proceeds from the sale of each unique puzzle will support one-hour development for children attending the Small Steps Foundation’s ABA Therapy Center.
Embrace Blue, Puzzle Through with Us! Put the photo puzzles together online by clicking here, and you can buy them at the gallery. If you are sharing the page or images, please use the hashtag #keruljkekbe [embrace blue in Hungarian].

With maximum consideration of epidemiological regulations, it is possible to meet creators and organizers in the gallery space during pop-up blue-hours. For more information at the exhibition’s Facebook event.

The Small Steps Foundation would like to thank everyone involved with the realization of the Embrace Blue, Puzzle Through project, especially the contribution of the twelve photographers.

The Small Steps Foundation's main activity is to help children with autism and their families through an evidence-based, best practice therapeutic approach that is widely recognized internationally. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) applies scientifically proven principles of learning and behavior to reduce socially negative behaviors and teach new ones.

The organization is led by a board of five trustees, which, from the start, strived to create an appropriate therapeutic setting for both parents and children in order to provide efficient and professional care. Consequently, in November 2018, Hungary's first and only ABA Therapy and Methodology Center opened its doors. The Center currently cares for 16 families and children on a daily basis, and it has completed nearly 6,000 hours of therapeutic development.

The Foundation relies on donations, periodic fundraising campaigns, and grant applications to sustain itself and run the ABA Therapy and Methodology Center. It occasionally offers financial relief to its families.
