This week, in Science, we have continued our work on materials and looked at thermal insulators.
We were given the task of investigating materials which would keep Mrs Bewick’s tea hot for the longest time as if we were going to design a new insulating cup for her.
We carried out a few experiments and we will let you know the results once we have reached our conclusions.
In PE, we are looking at the dance form of ‘Stomp’. We watched a video clip before we had a go at creating our own routines. We looked at how they use ‘junk’ and their bodies to create sound and dance moves.
We worked in small groups to create our own routines and then demonstrated them to the rest of the class.
We only had our bodies to create the sound and moves as we are looking at making ‘junk’ instruments, which we can use, in our DT sessions.
In RE, we are learning about Islam.
This week, we learnt about the Five Pillars of Islam. Some of us are already experts so we used them to help us develop our knowledge.
Finally, the week ended on 11th day of the 11th month so we read ‘In Flanders Fields’ in our reading sessions. We looked at the poem and the words used by the poet- John McCrae. We looked at the meaning within the poem and linked it to Remembrance Day.
