Boys Under 14 Futsal

Our Boys U/14 Futsal Team recently traveled to Coffs Harbour to participate in the North Coast Futsal Finals. This final leg of the competition is reserved for all the best teams in the area stretching from the Queensland border to as far south as Port Macquarie.

Our first game was against Alstonville which was won by Byron Bay 9-1. This put us through to the Grand Final against Coffs Harbour High School who were a very strong team. Our boys played their best Futsal and came out victorious 5-3.

Congratulations to these Byron Bay High School students as they now have a place in history as the 2022 U/14 Boys North Coast Futsal Champions!

Girls Under 14 Futsal

Our Girls Under 14 Futsal team also traveled to Coffs Harbour as the Far North Coast Champions, looking to level up as North Coast champions. It wasn’t to be, as we came up against some very strong opposition, but never game up.

Congratulations to these girls as they eventually finished in 4th place!

Vaccinations | Friday 18 November

No signed consent form = No vaccination

Consent forms for this round of vaccinations and catch-ups were done earlier this year.

Year 7 Vaccinations – Dose 2 of Gardasil (HPV)

CATCH UPS

  • Year 8 | any catch-ups from 2021 due to COVID interruptions of Year 7 vaccines (Gardasil, HPV)
  • Year 11 | any catch-ups from 2021 due to COVID interruptions of Year 10 vaccines (Meningoccocal)

Each year NSW Health works in partnership with schools to offer the vaccines recommended by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) for adolescents as part of the school vaccination program.

** NO STUDENT WILL BE VACCINATED WITHOUT HAVING RETURNED A COMPLETED CONSENT FORM **

Students can collect consent kits from the front office.

What do I do if my child needs to leave school early?

Please do not email or call

  • All prearranged appointments require a note before 9 am
  • Students leaving early without a note must be collected by a Parent/Carer in person at the front office

Option 1 - our preferred process

If you know your child has to leave school early for any legitimate reason please follow the process below.

  • Parents need to send a hand written and signed note with children to be signed by a Deputy Principal before 9 am.
  • Students then present their signed note to the Front Office to receive their leave pass.
  • During class, at the designated time, students show their leave pass to their teacher and are able to leave. (Without a leave pass they are questioned by teachers on gate supervision).
  • Students who subsequently return to class after an appointment must swipe in at the Front Office before returning to class.
  • Parents are reminded that this facility should be used only for medical or dental appointments that cannot be made after school or for other matters of an extremely urgent nature.
Please include your child's full name, the date, their transport and detailed reason and the time they are leaving.

** It is extremely important to follow this process as it is not always possible to get your child from class if you arrive unannounced. This allows students to leave class at the time required without disruption to the learning of the other class members.

Option 2 - For urgent and last minute leave requests only

If you need to collect your student for an URGENT unforeseen event and have been unable to send them to school with a note you are required to come to the front office to sign your student out.

This process takes longer so PLEASE ALLOW 15 minutes for your child to be sent for.

No student should leave the school grounds without permission.

Students being collected by someone other than their parent/carer or emergency contact

During school hours students are only allowed to leave with their own parent/carer or a person listed as an “Emergency Contact” as per the enrolment application.

If you require another person to pick up your child for any reason you will need to write a note for your child. This note will need to be signed and approved by the Deputy Principal before 9 am and a leave pass issued by the office.

The person named on the note will be required to come to the office with identification.

Lions Club Recycle for sight month

The Lions Club of Brunswick Mullumbimby is asking school communities in our shire to help us give the gift of sight.

In OCTOBER we will be collecting used prescription glasses, magnifier glasses and sunglasses (without cases). A collection box will be in the front office.

Each pair of glasses the Lions Club receives will be refurbished and a person in a developing country will be able to see, thanks to your donations.

The gift of sight is the most precious need of children and adults throughout the world.

Please collect and donate USED glasses from family, grandparents, friends, neighbours for the Lions Eye Glasses Recycling Project.

We ask you not to take granny’s glasses whilst she is having a nap.

Thank you from the BBHS SRC (Student Representative Council)
