There is no better place to experience stunning fall foliage than Acadia, with its breathtaking views of its iconic coastline, pristine lakes, and beautiful mountain landscapes.
We will be chasing the best light from sunrise to sunset shooting world class and famous locations to secret locations found throughout our years of experience shooting and scouting the park. When the sun goes down we’ll head back out to capture the night sky, focusing on capturing this location in an entirely new way while using light painting and shooting star trails.

The Itinerary
October 15th
- Meet at 4pm at the Edenbrook Motel.
- We will have a Quick Orientation over dinner & photograph the Sunset from Bar Harbor.
October 16th
- Sunrise at Cadillac Mountain Followed by breakfast in Bar Harbor
- Then we will take the scenic Park Loop drive stoping for coastal views and to experiment with long exposures. Some highlights include sand beach, thunder hole and the otter cliffs.
- Sunset then Dinner in Bar Harbor

October 17th
- Wake up extra early to catch the stars shining bright over Acadia followed by the the Sunrise at Boulder Beach.
- We will celebrate a great morning with brunch at the Famous Jordan Pond House and their delicious popovers.
- After we will walk around Jordan Pond capturing colorful reflections and the iconic bubble mountains.

We will explore the carriage roads, bridges and arches. And also waterfalls and rivers that run beside them.

What should I expect?
This photography workshop adventure is designed to give all participants the opportunity to shoot and capture some of the most amazing landscapes and places in the country. We will guide you through different photography techniques, camera settings and how to use filters to properly expose your shots. We will also spend a good amount of time on photo composition and developing your own style so your photos will tell your story to the viewer.
Group size will be kept small (less than 10 participants) to afford each participant one-on-one instruction both in the field and in the classroom for post editing. You should also be comfortable with the manual exposure setting on your camera.

This workshop is based in Bar Harbor, Maine which is just minutes from some of the best photo locations in Acadia National Park The closest airport that accepts national airlines is the Bangor International Airport, about one hour from the park. Car rentals are available at both airports.
We will be staying in Edenbrook Motel and have a room block reserved for our guests at a fee of $225 per night
Transportation
We will have the opportunity to ride share with us or take your own vehicle when exploring the park.
Best ways to get to Bar Harbor
- Drive- Estimated 7.5 hr drive from NYC
- Fly - into Bangor International Airport and rent a car or take a taxi (Appx $120 each way)
- If you are looking to share a ride message with the group and we can see if we can orchestrate this.
Meals are not included but we will provide water and snacks. We will have water gallon containers to refill your water canteens.

- Digital Camera Body (DSLR or mirrorless is fine, (smartphones are welcome too)
- Wide angle (24mm or wider Lenses such as 12-24, 16-35 etc) - great for wide sweeping landscapes and nightscapes
- Medium telephoto (24-70) - Lenses such as 24-70 or 24-105 etc) - great for all around photography,
- landscape to portrait to moderate close up and detail shots
- Telephoto - (70mm and beyond) - lenses such as 70-200 - great for compressing the landscape and tighter compositions

- Cancellations received at least 60 days prior to the workshop start date: We refund any tuition paid, with the exception of a $50 processing fee.
- For cancellations received 30 to 59 days prior to the start of the workshop: We refund any tuition paid, with the exception of a $500 processing fee.
- For cancellations received within 30 days prior to the start of the workshop: We retain full tuition.
