One Wave Away Eduardo Martinez

For this project, I will be exploring two different prompts. two sets of three postcards per concept.

Prompt #1 – What will wash up on my shore? I believe that water scarcity will be a serious issue within the next couple of decades. In the first set of postcards, I will be using an hour glass that depicts the limited amount of time that we have as humans before this issue of water scarcity washes up on our shore. I plan on using this hour glass in different ways at a nearby lake

Prompt #3 - what objects can you find along the shorelines of your local park or lake on your nature walk? I have yet to explore the lake near my home. I want to explore the lake and see what objects I come across. The goal is to find nothing but nature growing near the lakes shores, but we'll see if there will be other objects left behing by the people who live in that community.

Project Concept

The climate is undoubtedly changing which endangers our future. One of the resources that could be endangered for millions of Americans in the future is water.

Research shows that water shortages will begin to appear in as little as five to ten years unless something is done to combat the climate crisis. The way we treat our environment has consequences, and my photographs are intended to depict a sense of urgency. While our environment is hurtin, time does not slow down. Time will not stop for us to fix the climate issues we are faced with today. Time moves, so we should too.

Location: Lake Almaden Trail, San Jose

Week of August 30th - Photograph at Lake Almaden Trail, write descriptions along with research to depict a sense of urgency. Edit photographs on Photoshop.
