Pre wedding shoots Let's have fun!

Scheduling

I set aside an hour to an hour and a half for your pre wedding shoot. It may take less time but it’s a good amount of time to schedule. I’d make sure that you don’t have anything to dash off for so you’re not too anxious to move on with your day, it’ll help with your photos.
The ideal time to schedule is sunrise or sunset. Most couples work during the week so I’m happy to schedule your pre wedding shoot for a weekday evening and sometimes weekends if this is the only thing that will work for you. It’s best to think of your location and think when it’ll be quieter.

When

It really depends on what you’d like to do with the photos, if you’d like save the date cards then I’d suggest booking it in at least 5 months or more before your date. Otherwise any time within 4 months is totally fine. Turnaround for the images is about 2 weeks or so.

Session

These sessions are made for a few different reasons. You can make them what you want. Some people enjoy the sessions as a declaration of love, to show them off as a couple, others simply want the experience for the practice. It’s a good time for us to get you know you - me, you and the camera. You’ll realise the subtle directions I give and how much fun we can actually have taking photos.
There’ll never be a point where you’ll be left feeling awkward. I can find out how you guys interact with each other and we can shake the inner Chandler out of you! It’s also a great way to find out the expectations of you during the photos. I’m not saying you have to do your homework but it’s good for you to get used to being photographed.
It’ll make you feel more comfortable on the day so the wedding day can run smoothly. If you are taking along your dog or your little one/s then it’d be great to have a helping hand there to take them off and just get a few shots of just the two of you. Of course we will include your fur baby or little one but it’s just just to have that time together to be photographed.

What to wear

Make sure what you wear is a reflection of who you are individually. Something that you feel confident and comfortable in. There’s no point in dressing up and wearing something you wouldn’t wear day to day. Imagine you’re going out for a nice lunch to a nice place - that’s a good starting point. You really want to wear something that makes you, you. Something that makes you feel good.
Being photographed is all about the confidence. You’ll be nervous enough about it already so why were something you wouldn’t feel good in. Couple of last things! Wear comfortable shoes, don’t wear heels if we have a forest setting!
Dress for the weather too, no point wearing a nice strap top or a single t shirt if it’s baltic outside. And try to take the minimum with you. It’s best to leave bags, wallets, phones etc in the car, or I can carry them for you!

Finally

This is by no means a rule book or a must do! Simply some advice to make you think about it and make it your own shoot. Your pre wedding shoot should be more than just a practice. Make it fun and make it personal.
