Presentation Day 2022

Congratulations to all of our award recipients for 2022. Presentation day is an occasion for us to come together as a school community and celebrate the wonderful achievements of our amazing students. It was such a delight to see so many smiling faces amongst our students, supervisors and families who came along to the event with a total of 140 guests in attendance.

The day flowed so nicely, from Skye’s Acknowledgement of Country to Daniel’s Principals address, to the celebration of academic and special awards, to our graduation ceremonies and then a special thank you to a very special member of our school community, Jenny. This was followed by our scrumptious afternoon tea which gives our students, supervisors, teachers, and families an opportunity to converse and reflect on the year that was.

There couldn’t have been a better way to unveil our beautiful new space at the front of the school to our school community. What a perfect space to come together, celebrate and build connections within our community.

A massive thank you to our team of volunteers who helped with setting up the day and making it a day to remember.

Please enjoy a selection of photos from the day and take the time to reflect on the success of our students this year.

Student Work

Ceramics Workshop

Earlier this year a ceramics workshop was held at Mini School. In this 2-hour ceramics workshop the students from Years K to 11, were each given a pre-prepared “cut-to-size” slab and base to develop their pot. They had to learn how to successfully join the clay by scoring, wetting, and pressing the clay together, before adding a coil to all the joins to avoid any splitting in the kiln. They were given a variety of tools to press into the clay to make repetitive patterns. When the patterning and joining was completed, they could use masking tape as a resist before painting the pots with blue and pink underglazes. This made sharp-edged stripes and shapes possible. When perfectly dry, the pots were bisque fired and then finished with a gloss glaze and fired again.

Here are some of the amazing pots created by the students attending Mini School earlier this year
