Ponca Bible Camp kaitland hill
Ponca Bible Camp changed my life because it showed me how to enjoy life more and build my faith. The camp is in the mountains in Ponca Arkansas so it gives you time to be in nature and not worry about everything else in your life. There's always something to do at camp, whether its playing at the basketball court or cleaning dishes. No matter what you're doing everyone there makes it fun and enjoyable.
At camp, I made the most amazing friends. I learned that you could be who you are without anyone thinking you're completely insane. There's never a time I feel lonely there. I know I can go trust everyone there.
Not only do you meet the most amazing people, you start to feel like family. I've gone to Ponca for two years and both years I was already best friends with everyone in my cabin after the first day. You know you can trust them and even to this day I still talk to some of the girls and still tell them everything that's going on.
You'll never know what will happen at camp, one second your counselor's hammock is stolen and then your friend is eating a snail. Anything could happen whether it's funny or sad, everyone has each other's back.
My favorite part is the last night when we all come together around the camp fire. We take turns telling our story and how camp has helped us through our struggles. It does get pretty emotional saying good bye and then learning each other's deepest stories. But we all leave a mark in each other's hearts.
The best part about camp is we all believe in the same way and come together during praise and worship. We have live music twice a day and a wonderful pastor to preach to us. Every lesson he gives I get so much out of it. The pastor has had a crazy life and has done so much that no matter what you're going through, he can relate and help you through it.
Ponca will forever be my safe place. I wish I could've gone last year to make more memories there. The change it made on me will always stay with me. I still miss playing games there, going on hikes, cliff jumping, and having deep conversations with my cabin even though they weren't always serious. I miss walking up to the chapel and singing praise and worship and I even miss doing dishes and cleaning. I will never forget the fun times I had a Ponca Bible Camp.
