In 1494 Babur inherited the kingdom at age 11. As he developed, he also developed his army with his kingdom. Years later he swept down to India and laid the foundation for the Mughal Empire. Babur's Army led 12,000 troops to victory against an army of 100,000, commanded by a sultan of Delhi. After Babur's death his son Humayum inherited and lost the territory his father had gained. The grandson of Babur,led a great nation with wisdom, tolerance, and heavy artillery. Akbar was a Liberal Ruler that exhibited political and religious tolerance. Sounds great right? Under Akbar's authority you were given the free will to practice your religion. he also exhibited this act by allowing his Hindu wives to practice their faith without forcing them to convert. Non-Muslims such as Natives, foreigners,and Hindus were granted access to high ranking offices.
Under Akbar's liberal ruler ship he abolished both tax on Hindu pilgrims, or on non-Muslims. Akbar's chief finance minister calculated the percentage of the value of peasant crops which established an efficient tax policy. Akbar governed through a bureaucracy of officials including: Natives, Foreigners, Hindus and Muslims who could all rise to high office. This contributed to the quality of the government.
Shah Jahan had an eye for architecture. After his wife, Mumtaz Mahal passed he created a tomb built with the finest of marble as a reflection of the profound love that Jahan had for her. Shan Jahan poured his passion and love and wealth into the monument for his love.This monument was named "India's love".
