The cheer team performed a routine once the students arrived in the gym. “It was pretty great, and really loud," freshman Taya Zemaitus said.
With the highest score and loudest screams, seniors won the sound level contest by a score of 120. Followed by sophomores with a score of 112. Juniors were close scoring 111, while the freshman came last.
Assistant Principal Mike Roberson won first place in the teacher belly flop competition. "I was thrilled," Roberson said. "I’m not a big fan of being out in front like that, but it’s fun for the kids."
To complete the relay race, teams consisting of the homecoming court and staff were required to finish a series of challenges. “We are out here to have fun, that’s it," Principal Tracy Wilson said. "It went horrible, our eight-legged race never got off the ground, we had no time to practice and we did not know what we were doing. But who cares, we had fun.”
After four rounds of tug of war, the seniors took first place. The juniors finished in second and the sophomore finished in third after beating the freshman.
To finish the pep rally, band director Iain Novoselich lead the students in singing and dancing to the song Let's Go Blue.
