Lone Mountain Eagle Eye SeptemBer 12, 2022

Lone Mountain Families,

Let's talk about school attendance. Regular attendance is the key to much of the success a student may gain from his/her school program. Students should remain out of school only when absolutely necessary, as much of the classroom learning cannot be made up. The benefit of project based learning, discussions, and participation is lost forever to those who are absent. A doctor’s verification will be requested for excessive illness-related absences. Thank you for your support in getting your child to school and on time.

I wish you all a wonderful week and if there is anything that I may do for you or your child please do not hesitate to contact me.

Respectfully, Emily Hill

"SOAR" EXPECTATIONS AT LONE MOUNTAIN

This year we continue with our positive behavior interventions and "SOAR" expectations for students to follow in the classroom and around campus. The acronym SOAR stands for Safety, Ownership for your actions/words, Attitude, and Respect. These are character traits that we talk about daily within the classrooms and around campus. When these specific traits are shown staff members can give each student a SOAR card that they label with their name and then drop into a raffle for a monthly prize drawing.

Each week we also celebrate student behavior success with our Eagle Awards. Students are nominated weekly by their teachers and celebrated with an award of recognition. Please join in me congratulating last week's award winners- Gabriel, Tabitha, Zoe, and Tesher.

LONE MOUNTAIN PICTURE DAY- FRIDAY- 9/16/22

INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY- THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH

International Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration that began in 2009 and is based on the children's story The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage.

This week in our LMES library we will be reading the story The Dot and celebrating how we can "make our mark" on our school and community by using the talents that we each have. Our citizenship focused student group, K- Kids, is asking each student to wear dots on Thursday as we celebrate the unique talents that each of us has. If you would like to learn more about this day or live stream the author reading the story on Thursday here is the link. / https://www.internationaldotday.org/
