JOB DESCRIPTION

Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewmen (SWCC) are specially trained to operate on and around rivers and coastal regions around the world. Wielding extreme firepower and a deadly skill set, SWCC operators support special warfare/special operations missions as well as conduct direct action and special reconnaissance missions of their own.

As a SWCC, you may very likely:

Insert and extract SEALs and other Special Operations personnel from a variety of Naval Surface Warfare vessels

Collect important data about enemy military installations and shipping traffic in coastal areas

Assist other military and civilian law enforcement agencies

Entry Requirements

A SWCC candidate is assessed using:

Pre-enlistment Medical Screening
Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery
Computerized Special Operations Resiliency Test (C-SORT)
Navy SEAL Physical Screening Test (PST)
VE + AR = a minimum score of 103 and MC = a minimum score of 51
17-30 years old
Open to men and women
Must have normal color perception. Vision correctable to 20/25.
Must be a US citizen.
Must have strong moral character and able to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance.
High school diploma graduate

PST Standards

SWIM 500 YDS. side stroke or breast stroke (13:00 min)
Rest 10 minutes
PUSH-UPS within 2 minutes (42)
Rest 2 minutes
SIT-UPS within 2 minutes (50)
Rest 2 minutes
PULL-UPS no time limit 6
Rest 10 minutes
1.5 MILE RUN (12:30 min/sec)

SWCC Training

As a SWCC, you will undergo some of the most intense and demanding physical and mental training in the world. While qualifying for SWCC in Delayed Entry Program is preferred, you may also volunteer to do so during basic training at Recruit Training Command (RTC), or at any time during your enlistment prior to your 31st birthday. While at RTC, you will take part in a rigorous physical examination and medical screening. Upon review of your entrance medical examinations, further physical screening tests will be given at RTC and at the Naval Special Warfare Center (SWCC School).

SWCC training immediately follows successful completion of 8 weeks Naval Basic Training at Great Lakes, IL.

SWCC training is 22 weeks long at Naval Special Warfare (NSW) School in Coronado, CA. This highly-demanding physical and mental training consists of 2 weeks of Indoctrination (administrative and physical preparation), followed by 8 weeks of Basic Crewman Training (BCT), and 12 weeks of advanced Crewman Qualification Training (CQT).
