THE MANIFESTO: THECITYWENEED 3.0 - REALIZING THE NEW URBAN PARADIGM

On 27th April, The City We Need Now! 3.0 (TCWNN) has been launched, a global manifesto of the World Urban Campaign on the lead to the High-Level Meeting on the Review of the Implementation of the New Urban Agenda, which be held on Thursday 28 April 2022.

This document reaffirms and updates their common commitment to the realization of a new urban paradigm. A paradigm that reviews the New Urban Agenda (NUA) and shares aspirations with the High-Level Meeting on the Review of its Implementation, as well as other global agreements, such as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Paris Climate Agreement, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction or the New York Declaration on Refugees and Migrants.

THE CAMPAIGN: THECITYWENEED 3.0 NOW!

We are off-track to achieve the SDGs by 2030 and the urban world as we know it is at risk. Cities are struggling with multiple crises amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic and the multiple effects of climate change. Vulnerable groups are hit by social, economic, and political challenges, resulting in devastating setbacks to advancing inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities.

The City We Need is NOW! regional campaigns in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America, Europe, the Middle East and the Arab States will remind the world that cities and communities are accelerators for the implementation of the SDGs. Regional campaign partners will promote city changers that have made an impact on their communities and solutions for cities to accelerate action to achieve the New Urban Agenda under the UN Decade of Action.

URBAN THINKERS CAMPUS 7.0

The Urban Thinkers Campus (UTC) 7.0 is an open space for partners to convene people and organizations to debate urban challenges and solutions to build better cities, reflecting on the new mega-trends of the 21st century. This new UTC edition focuses on the 10 principles of The City We Need NOW! 3.0.

Join us to develop solutions and take action in cities and communities to implement the New Urban Agenda and help accelerate the achievement of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) by 2030. We build synergies and take action towards ambitious goals commensurate with the global effort needed to deliver the 2030 promise under the Decade of Action.
