Geneva Switzerland
Welcome to the most beautiful city of Switzerland! You have probably heard a lot of stories about this amazing place.. However, as a local, I am here to share the best spots and some tips with you to really enjoy your stay in the city.
The Jet d'Eau
The Jet d'Eau is the symbol of the city and one of the biggest attractionS for tourists. I advise you to go there before sunset or when it's more quiet. Coloured lights are displayed and you feel like in completely different place! Very romantic..
Time to celebrate !
This club is THE place to be on a Saturday night! Java club offers you the opportunity to attend concerts and listen to the greatest DJs from all over the world. Don't forget to book a table at least one or two days before the event.
We consume local !
Food, Food &... More Food
Geneva has a reputation of having some of the best restaurants in Switzerland. Do you fancy Japanese , Italian , French or Thai cuisine ? It doesn't matter ! You'll find everything you want.
This little paradise is called Izumi, and is the best way to taste the best sushi of Switzerland with the best view! You'll sit on a terrace which is the ROOF of the hotel. This is my favourite spot in the summer and the place is also great if you want to drink fancy cocktails with your friends after a day of work or school!
You don't know if you want to go clubbing, or if you want to have dinner ? Why can't you do both at the same time ! The Baroque Restaurant offers you gastronomic dishes in the atmosphere of a club. The music is amazing and the wine list is quiet tempting for the people interested in wine.
Let's go back to culture for a while
Art and History's Museum
Being passionate by art, I really love this place and the architecture of the building is very impressive. They propose different collections and a new exhibition each months of well-know artist.
Do - Don't list
- Don't exchange money everywhere .. Prefferably go to a bank,
- Life is very expensive in Geneva and some people are surprised to see that they didn't take enough pocket money with them.
- Don't accept invitations from beautiful girls in nice bars and lounges.. It can cost you much more than you expected!
- Don't buy products in the very small shops, I know it's tempting, however, you are going to pay up to two times the price compared with the bigger shops like Migros or Coop.
