The Project Aims
- To raise funds for the compost pit
- To build a compost pit To transform all organic waste into plant fertilizer
- To lessen the need for commercialized fertilizer on the campus
Composting significantly reduces the amount of waste that must be transported and processed, including the costs and carbon emissions associated with doing so.
Composting is a more advantageous option than sending your organic waste to a landfill because of the valuable nutrients in your compostable materials.
Compost enhances the soil's capacity to hold onto moisture, which lowers runoff and helps to avoid erosion. Additionally, compost controls and prevents plant diseases and pests.
Moreover, moister, healthier soil strengthens the soil's use and lowers the emissions of fossil fuels that would otherwise be required to create and transport soil-maintenance goods.
Composting can help sequester carbon, which means it can help reduce carbon dioxide.
THE ECOMPOSTING FACILITY
Purpose
The main purpose of this project composting or ecological composting facility is to
raise funds to build a composting facility in Bataraza National High School. Using the
compost pit we will turn biodegradable waste or organic waste into soil and plant
fertilizer. To make use of biodegradable waste instead of thrown in the pick-up point.
This compost pit will help not just the agriculture students but also all the students at
Bataraza National High School. The project is worth sponsoring for it will enable
students to turn their own biodegradable waste into a human-like material through the
activity of composting. This will also help Bataraza National High School to manage
waste disposal.
