Content Info For The Week

Math (Swindell, Beasley, and Meeks):

Students will continue to review for GMAS this week. Focusing on equations, systems of equations, and integers. Students will complete mystery puzzles, escape rooms. and play a round of connect four.

Algebra I (Meeks):

This week scholars will be factoring using the quadratic equation as well as investigating projectile motion and area problems with quadratics. Homework this week is on progress learning.

ELA (Styron and Barker):

This week students will continue working through workshop 9. This includes students deepening understanding of meaning by relating words to their synonyms and antonyms, reading for main idea, author’s purpose, key vocabulary usage, & making inferences in a provided text, as well as completing the workshop 9 interim vocabulary assessment and workshop 9 interim assessment.

ELA (Lee):

This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students begin their final novel study of the year over The Diary of Anne Frank. Students will research information about the Holocaust and World War II to strengthen their understanding of the setting prior to reading.

9th Grade Lit (Lee):

This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will begin their final novel study of the year over Animal Farm. Students will work in groups to research a notable individual/event surrounding the Russian Revolution.

Science (Carver and Lewis):

Students will explore conductors, insulators, and friction in order to explain the type of change the object will have. Student will also learn how static electricity works.

Social Studies (MacArthur and Lewis):

This week in Mr. MacArthur's class, students will begin their 2 week review for Georgia Milestone testing on May 9th.
