Happy Tuesday! I hope that everyone enjoyed the three day weekend. You may have heard me say it before or read it in our newsletter but we can not do this work at our schools without you. It truly takes a village to support our students. I am looking for business, faith, and government leaders, along with parents, and community members to join me in partnering together to support the vision and mission of LMES.
In November, as a school district, we will be hosting a meeting where we bring together all of these partners and talk about the amazing things going on at our schools and how our partners can help support the schools. This is not a big commitment, just an opportunity to continue making a positive impact on LMES and CCUSD. Please email me at ehill@ccusd93.net if you are interested in joining this group.

"SOAR" EXPECTATIONS AT LONE MOUNTAIN
This year we continue with our positive behavior interventions and "SOAR" expectations for students to follow in the classroom and around campus. The acronym SOAR stands for Safety, Ownership for your actions/words, Attitude, and Respect. These are character traits that we talk about daily within the classrooms and around campus. When these specific traits are shown staff members can give each student a SOAR card that they label with their name and then drop into a raffle for a monthly prize drawing. Here are the month of August winners.
Each week we also celebrate student behavior success with our Eagle Awards. Students are nominated weekly by their teachers and celebrated with an award of recognition. Please join in me congratulating last week's award winners- Declan, Paige, Wes, and Perla.

From the classroom to the playground, learning at Lone Mountain is always fun! This week's pictures focus on making and enjoying s'mores cooked in our solar ovens, and painting in art class.

NEWS AROUND THE DISTRICT
CCUSD is offering some wonderful Parent Academy classes for our parents. The best part about these is that they are all ZOOM offerings. This means, you can participate in these 1-hour classes and be at home cooking dinner, or in your car driving your child to practice, etc. We hope you are able to join us.
