Seminole State Claims Fourth Consecutive National Title
Garden City, KS - In the Division I NJCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship, the Seminole State College of Florida women's golf team maintained dominance throughout the entire tournament, claiming the fourth straight national championship and fifth women's golf national championship in program history.
The Raiders led for the entire tournament and posted a sub-300 in two of four rounds of the tournament, which were the only sub-300 team scores of any school.
Another women's golf program with a rich championship history, Daytona State finished in second place. The Falcons have finished in one of the top two spots for ten straight championship tournaments. Western Texas finished in third place golfing for a total of 1232.
Team Standings
Seminole State finished with a score of 1201. The Raiders claimed the lead by 22 strokes ahead of second place, Daytona State.
Individual Standings
Pearl Phoncharatkun, Seminole State-FL, claimed her first individual title at the NJCAA Women's Golf Championship with a total score of 296 over four rounds.
Phoncharatkun shot sub-80 rounds and held the lead all four days.
Ailsa Brannock claimed second place individually one shot behind and helped lead the Wranglers to a fourth-place team finish. Phoncharatkun's teammate, Salysa Mason, finished in third place individually two shots from medalist.
Seminole State Four-Peat
The Raiders have become a staple at the National tournament. They have finished in the top-2 in each of the last eight championships while winning five titles since 2015.
All five of the Raider Women’s Golf championships have been won under Head Coach Christa Teno.
Sophomore Pearl Phoncharatkun led Seminole State to another championship title, finishing with a total score of 296.
The Raiders had three golfers earn All-America honors and All-Tournament recognition: Pearl Phoncharatkun, Salysa Mason, and Rim Imni.
