The door bell rang a lot this week and that is a really good thing! It meant we had a lot of visitors, deliveries, and goodies brought in for our teachers. Thank you for showering them with appreciation this week. Next Wednesday is National School Nurse's Day. Nurse Darwin takes care of so many kids every day. I hear her telling them that everything will be ok when they are hurt or sick. She speaks so sweetly to our children. Encourage your child to tell her thank you next week!

STAAR test review is in full swing. I walked around campus this week and you would not know that grades 3rd-6th were reviewing. Our teachers went above and beyond to make this time a fun, game based format for our students. Students played "Smarter Than My Teacher" game show style, Camp STAAR Along, STAAR Olympics, Indiana Jones Escape Room style, and many other creative approaches to review. We want our students feel that STAAR is just a day that they get to show off everything they know, and they know a lot! Our effort to review in a fun way is to reduce the anxiety a child may feel about testing. Confidence is key! Broncos need to walk into test days rested, well fed, and feeling confident! Parents, you have a role in this as well. Ensure an early bedtime and a healthy breakfast!

Please Remember - No visitors can be on campus on STAAR days!

Don't miss any of our spring events! See the link below for a complete list.

Bronco STARS

We align our schoolwide expectations and classrooms expectations to what we value. These values have been identified as Safety, Teamwork, Attitude, Respect, and Service. The expectations, or rules for our schoolwide commonly shared spaces are noted below. You may hear us say, "Way to be Butler STARS!" This means they are demonstrating a behavior in the chart below.

Birthdays at Butler

At Butler, we celebrate birthdays of every staff member and child! Students and staff come up the morning announcements and get to announce their birthday and get a special birthday pencil. We do not hang banners and are not allowed to provide birthday related food items to be shared with other children. Parents can bring an individual cupcake or treat when visiting for lunch. We encourage lunch visits to be a special occurrence and time between you and your child. Birthdays are a perfect day to come up and eat together!

THANK YOU for reading to the end! Have a wonderful weekend!
