Mascots

NC State has two official mascots, Mr and Ms Wuf. These two lively characters are part of the cheerleading team and add spirit and humor to our program. They are available for appearances and can be seen at most NC State sporting events. Competition

Tradition

Large Coed and Small Coed are competitive and have traditionally competed at NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida. To be able to attend this prestigious event, Large and Small Coed earn their bids in the summer at NCA College Camp. NCA College Nationals is held in early to mid April. This is the largest national championship for college cheerleaders in the nation. Each team competes with 20 athletes. Small Coed has 4 males and 16 females, and Large Coed competes with 11 males and 9 females.

Excellence

Clinics and Camps

One day clinics are held in the fall (Mid October) and winter (January). An overnight college prep camp is held each summer. Check our website for dates, times and registration information. These Clinics and Camps will help your transition from high school or all star cheer to collegiate cheerleading and will give you a feel for our program, see how we operate and provide a chance to ask questions. You will receive instruction on stunt technique (both coed and group), tumbling and game day cheerleading. You will learn our recruiting and tryout processes and work on the skills that you will be asked to perform at tryouts.
