I met the web, 1993 in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. I was management of small conference room, 4 rooms with father. Web creating, starting idea is Desktop Publishing by Macintosh for customer of conference room.

First, Centris 650... early times ( Yes, like a bourbon ) Macintosh is small power of CPU, Memory, and Hard Disk Drive. And Required the Video card, Certainly ... attached the card, Radius Precision Color 24 XP ( X? ). Insert to NuBus!!!
Why 5 Macintosh?
Application and roles distribution for each Macintosh. Graphic making, Desktop Publishing, Music Compose, Video Authoring...Video! It's reason by small power.
Yes, met the Radius...out of luck! I bought of Radius Video Vision!!! Quadra 950 using for this. However... I used the more money.
Why used the more money?
Met the Adobe, Quark, Macromedia ( ! ), Steinberg... and more. It's a big issue!

More, more, and more software used. And PostScript Fonts are expensive! But my favorite software is a...Macromedia Action! Cheap!
It's a easy authoring for presentation. Like Adobe Spark. But recording from video output by Radius Video Vision, awesome video presentation made easy. Maybe later... base of Flash product.
Desktop Publishing, out goes for "Presen House Too". In Ebisu, Shibuya, Tokyo. Corporate since 1919! In 1985, Macintosh reseller. Now, Desktop Publishing giant.
Web Creating in 1993 ~
My first bought the book of web, attached Floppy Disk, includes "NCSA MOSAIC". First customer's browser. But count of website is very little. What using Internet for? Yes, it's a News Group. Many information getting from News Group. Includes the porn, Oops... photo only, of course, sorry. Access for Internet by "Modem".
Nothing the W3C in 1993. HTML 1.0 from IETF. None <table>. None Table!!!
Past the HTML+ and HTML 2.0, in 1994, HTML 4.01 released with PNG image format in few years. Yes, customer self authoring environment is ready. Stand up The W3C.
But confusion the web. It's reason of Browser war. "Netscape Navigator" is used the independent specification. But that include LiveScript ( Not same name in now ). Yes, you know, base of JavaScript. Handling the user interface, Design, and browser objects. Get the interactive. But wait, CSS Level 1 is released in 1996 ( Last update in 2008, and change/add to CSS Level 2 ).
First Opera release In 1995, Internet Explorer 3 in 1996. Independent specification is MANY!
Users over the specifications.
First impression, HTML 4.01 and CSS Level 2.1 are good specifications. But few times, users creating are over the that. "Hack" story is starting.
More push the "Hack", Microsoft Internet Explorer is coming. I thought, Microsoft are wrong the point of application design, since 1975, 20 years for business application only.
Adobe, Macromedia... more, having a "Multimedia" for starting the internet. But not have a browser. It's different the corporate tech and culture is became the confusions.
It's continue for 2003, Apple Safari is coming, later release the Firefox, grow up the browser war and confusions.
In background, have a many issue of internet. patent issue of Compuserve GIF, Security, Accessibility, and more. Continue the confusions.
In 2008, Google Chrome coming.
Google, stand up in 1998. You know, Search service giant. Maybe, thought for handling the internet user, "Money", and User Experience. Scene of internet, change by day by day. Google, Mozilla, Adobe, IBM, Microsoft... many corporate are thought for internet.
W3C is great, Sir Tim Berners-Lee is great, but compelling force for market is nothing. Above corporates and W3C, thought for Web Standards, and Sir tim berners-Lee have a concept of "Semantic Web". But that on the rail?
