phase 1 - light dependent reactions - light energy is absored and converted to chemical energy. the form of chemical energy is ATP and NADPH. the light energy excites electrons in PS2 causing the water molecule to split letting a electron into the electron transport system. when the electron is finally to ps1 it gets reenergized and then the electron is transfered to an electron carrier NADP+ forming an energy storage molecule called NADPH
the 2 phase is the calvin cycle . one carbon goes in at a time and the cycle has to happen 6 times for it to have enough phosphoglycerate. then the energy stored in atp and nadph is added to make g3p and which there are 12 of. after that 2 g3p molecules leave the cycle to make glucose the last 10 g3p is coverted by rubisco to make five carbon molecules called rubp. these molecules combine with other carbon molecules to start the calvin cycle all over again
