What what Pliny the Younger known for?
Pliny was known for his collection of letters which provided an important source of information about Roman society. His letters also give us an idea about the life of a Roman scholar and Philanthropist.
Examples of his letters
Pliny's letters are collected in ten books. The first nine books contain 247 personal letters, while the tenth book contains his official correspondence with Trajan from bithynia Discussing how Christians were being treated and their strength in bithynia. One letter, addressed to the historian Tacitus, gives us a thourogh description of how he led his mother through the fumes and falling stones during the eruption of Vesuvius and the death of his uncle.

Who was Pliny the Younger?
Pliny was born into a wealthy family in Novum Comum in northern Italy. His given name was Gaius Plinius Caecilius Secundus. Pliny studied under Quintilian who was a Roman teacher of oratory.
By the age of 20, Pliny was considered one of the most learned people of his time

Pliny the younger worked in many highly skilled careers throughout his lifetime. When he was just 18, he spoke as a lawyer at the Centumviral Court, which dealt with wills and inheritances. Besides being a great public speaker, He also governed bithynia for 18 months and had extraordinary powers.
