Oxford Emory wins record sixth consecutive title

After the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the 2020-21 season, the Oxford Emory (GA) Eagles wins its sixth consecutive NJCAA DIII Men's Tennis Championship! The Eagles won six of nine championship flights on Sunday in Oxford, GA to capture the title. RCSJ Gloucester (NJ) finished as the team runner-up, while Mercer County (NJ) rounded out the top-3.

Final Standings and Flight Championship Matches

RCSJ Gloucester comes in second place with 19.5 points, followed closely behind by Mercer County with 13.5 points. DuPage (IL) and Suffolk County (NY) round out the top-5.

Eagles win sixth consecutive DIII Men's Tennis title

The Eagles participated in each of the singles and doubles championships and brought home four singles titles and two doubles titles. Jahaan Sachdeva captured both No. 4 singles and teamed up with freshman Zach Ravel to claim No. 2 doubles.

Emory Oxford battled through some tough matches throughout the tournament. Ronaldo Jacome of Mercer County brought home the No. 1 singles, as well as No. 1 doubles with Alfred Kandakai. Kandakai also won No. 2 singles for the Vikings. The Eagles ended up securing the most team points to win the championship.

Sophomore Frank Lu won the singles flight No. 3 championship in straight sets and teamed up with freshman Tyler Yamato-Chang for a runner-up in the No. 1 doubles flight.

RCSJ Gloucester finishes as the runner-up

The Roadrunners claimed their 11th straight top-3 finish and put together an impressive team performance. Sophomore James Keenan and freshman Ben Konyak both claimed second-team singles and doubles all-America honors. Keenan played in flights No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles, respectively. Konyak played in the No. 6 singles flight and No. 3 doubles flight.

The duo of sophomore Collin Christoff and freshman Rockland Caselli earned second-team doubles all-America honors in the No. 2 doubles flight. Christoff also earned a singles second-team All-America honor in No. 5 singles.

Mercer County earns third-place behind Jacome and Kandakai's strong play

The duo of Ronaldo Jacome and Alfred Kandakai put together an impressive weekend for the third-place finishing Vikings. Together, they won the flight No. 1 doubles title over Frank Lu and Tyler Yamato-Chang of Oxford Emory by a 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 final. Jacome won the No. 1 singles flight championship 6-0, 6-4. Kandakai brought home the No. 2 singles flight title 6-3, 6-4 over Yamato-Chang.
