Student Affairs May 3, 2023

May 3, 2023 | Edition #80

Message from the VP

Dear Student Affairs Colleagues,

With finals week approaching quickly, campus is full of life and the last sprint of activities, projects, and programs seem to be happening all at once! Last week, many of you participated in the recognition reception where many departments recognized the outstanding service and contributions of students who make our campus a better place. It was an honor to celebrate alongside you. My family also enjoyed the celebration of culture and skill on display at the Nizhoni Days Powwow this past Sunday; congratulations to the Kiva Club on hosting once of the largest student-run powwow’s in the country. This week, many of our graduation and end of year celebrations begin and continue into next week. I am so excited to witness and support the Black Graduation and Awards and Recognition Ceremony, Asian American & Pacific Islander Graduation Convocation, American Indian Convocation, Raza Graduation, and Veterans and Military Resource Center Graduation Recognition. These events are opportunities to not only celebrate our graduates, but also to raise the visibility of the important support and community each of our centers provide for students throughout their academic journeys at UNM. I hope you will consider joining me at one or more of these important celebrations.

With appreciation,

Eric
