Huge congratulations to our talent show superstars who performed in front of the whole school in aid of Comic Relief! What talent we have!
We had a fantastic first session using our Red Start resources this week. We learnt about when we might need to borrow money from a bank and about repaying it too and consequences of not paying it back. We looked at what was most important to spend our money on and what was a choice. Year 4 LOVED this board game and worked so well together! Superstars!
As part of our science week we had a visit from Newcastle University. They explained the importance of brushing our teeth. We also had a go at being a dentist! We had to scrape out cavities and fill them in with a filling. What amazing dentists we have!
For Science week we had to try and get a message from Year 4 to Year 5 using our knowledge of sound. We decided to make a long string telephone. We weren’t sure if it would be too long but after lots of measuring, and practising it worked!
In history we looked at the different types of Roman soldiers. We used our Oracy skills to try and explain how to draw different Roman soldier shields to each other. We also used a concept map to see how Roman’s trained to be soldiers and the different formations they used.
It snowed!!! Lots of brilliant snowmen built this week. Well done Year 4!
