STEP UP TO THE PLATE

8TH GRADE PARTY PAYMENTS

The PTO is still collecting payments for the 8th grade party. There are several families that have not submitted their payment. It is very important that the PTO receives the necessary funding to make this a special event for our students. They fundraise through the year to help subsidize cost, but depend on 8th grade family contributions. Thank you for your contribution. Payments may be made in the main office or Venmo.

Please pay through Venmo: @Michelle-Langston

BOBCAT TALENT SHOW

8TH GRADE INTERVIEWS WEDNESDAY, MAY 31, 2023

Interviewers Needed for 8th Grade Interviews!

We are bringing back our 8th Grade Interview program for the first time since the pandemic began and we still need volunteers for slots. This is a wonderful opportunity—one you will walk away from energized and excited about the future of our young people today. Please see information and sign up link below:

This one-of-a-kind program gives 8th grade students in the Troy School District the opportunity to participate in an authentic interview with professional members of the Troy community, but we need your help to make it happen. As a volunteer interviewer, you will spend a couple of hours one morning or afternoon in one-on-one interviews—and walk out blown away by students' ability to conduct themselves during this real-world experience.

Students will showcase their portfolios of accomplishments in middle school and are prepared to answer questions about their artifacts as well as their interests, strengths, passions and future plans. Interviewers get to choose their time and date, so please choose a slot that works for you . NOTE: You may see the sign up for Larson Middle School first, since that is our first school on the calendar, but across the top, there are tabs with times/dates for each school throughout the month of May—just click on the tab for the date you want and it will show you the slots available.

CYBER AWARENESS ASSEMBLY

On Monday, June 5th at 8:30 am, the Michigan State Police will be on-site at Baker Middle School to talk to students about protecting themselves and their information while on-line. They will also discuss real world examples of online dangers that exist.
