Instructional Technology Program Webinar Series The UNCW Instructional Technology Program is excited to host a series of webinars where a group of our alumni will discuss their perspectives from the field based on their current positions. Panelists will share their experiences with attendees and offer recommendations for prospective instructional designers interested in the field. Edyna Nixon Colin Taper Alex Hartline She graduated from the MIT program in 2021. She currently works as a Senior Learning Consultant at Biogen, where she heads the Learning Design team. In her role, she consults with the business on performance challenges, customizes eLearning, ILT, and VILT training interventions, and offers guidance on best practices for learning. She lives in Wilmington, NC where she is active in the ballroom dance community. Senior Instructional Designer (UNC Wilmington). Before coming to UNC Wilmington, Colin worked in secondary education, as an English teacher and instructional technologist, for 19 years. In his current role, he primarily works in the area of faculty professional development, and he has recently developed a new faculty training framework for UNCW faculty and staff. His professional interests include online learner motivation and making instructional design and learning theories accessible to faculty. She is a graduate of the UNCW MIT program. Edyna has been at Booz Allen Hamilton for more than 4 years supporting Arlington National Cemetery as Training Lead and Instructional Designer. She identifies the client’s training needs and best practices, creates exercises and activities that enhance the learning process, and develops training curricula and multimedia eLearning. In 2023, Edyna has taken over the role of Deputy Task Lead of Training and Technical Assistance for a federal justice client. She looks forward to bringing new innovative ideas to the table in her new position.
