What is ISB’s Recycling Program? let's uncover isb recycling secrets

Many schools worldwide have their own recycling program but have you ever wondered what kind of recycling program is going on at ISB? There are many different reasons other schools recycle this could include reducing pollutants, conserving energy, keeping trash out of landfills, and many more. What could be the main reasons that ISB is doing this?

ISB has had a recycling program since 2012, it started quite a while ago, but still runs to this day. While some students support the recycling program some don’t and that causes a huge impact due to trash being thrown in the wrong place. Khun Apple, the head of the recycling program, stated that “We do support the recycle program of students then we have to do it as well.” She thinks that if we recycle the world will become a better place. I am also a firm believer that by recycling we can extend the length that our planets will exist.

If you have used the printer at ISB before you know how much paper is around that area, it could be due to students printing the wrong thing or even printing too much. ISB actually collects those unused papers and sends them out to recycle and outsource to produce more paper from recycling. Those papers are there than used to resell making the old used paper brand new once again.

As of right now, ISB does not keep track of how much they recycle each year, but we do know that ISB has made around 80,000 baht from recycling. Khun Apple stated that “I have no information we’re just processed to get them out.” ISB got 80,000 baht which means that they recycle quite well during the last year.

Most people would throw out old electronics, but did you know how important it is should recycle electronics? According to eco cycle, it says that “E-waste can contain hazardous materials such as lead, mercury, and cadmium that can contaminate the environment if they aren't disposed of responsibly.” This is why ISB collects electronic pieces of equipment and batteries and collects them by properly outsourcing to recycle them.

Students need to work together in order to make full use of the ISB recycling program. Ing, a student at ISB said that “I support what ISB has been doing, recycling really helps us by reducing the cost of products, and making the world a better place” Most students would agree that recycling is important to help out the environment. Ing also mentions that ISB recycling bins are convenient to use since the image on the trash cans is easy to spot.

ISB has done a great job with managing the recycling program and we hope to see even more contributions from the students. If ISB keeps doing what they're doing, it could really make an impact on making the world sustainable.
