It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎄

We had a brilliant trip to Gibside National Trust this week and took part in a Christmas Trail. The children followed the magical trail around Gibside to find reindeer food bags, which had fallen off Santa’s sleigh. Along the way they sang songs, learnt about Christmas traditions and wildlife that live in the area. The children also enjoyed working in the Forest School making their own decoration to take home using natural resources.

After lunch we visited the stables to see where Rudolph and the other reindeer live and took a ride on Santa’s sleigh. 🛷 Finally we headed to Strawberry Park where the children loved testing their physical ability, playing on the different equipment, before heading back to school. It was such a lovely day and the children were fantastic!

Chris Bostock, a storyteller visited the children in KS1 this week and told them stories of magical wintry tales. The children loved listening to the stories and used their imagination to act out different parts, bringing the adventures to life. Chris used repetitive phrases and the children eagerly joined in, lots of fun was had by all. The session was a good blend of storytelling and drama, leaving the children with lots of new ideas to create their own stories back in class.
