What has been a fantastic penultimate week of the half term which saw the class taking part in a number of interesting activities.
On Friday, the class spent the morning working on their authority skills, to get us warmed up. There were several items hidden in a box and selected children had to describe the item to the rest of the class. They had one minute to describe what the item was without giving away its name, and then the rest of the class could ask the child describing a number of “yes or no” questions,After that the children could then guess. It was a lot of fun and there were some wonderful descriptions and some great questions asked.
After that, we watched a video of two children having a disagreement in the playground. The class with a tasked with using their oracy skills to respond to each child and explain what they could do so that everybody would be happy.
We spent some of this week, having a go at answering the question “Was the Anglo-Saxon period really dark age?” The children used their knowledge from the history lessons they’d taken part in this half term to have a go at answering the question and working out whether or not a lot happened in that period.
We all came to an agreement that there had been quite a considerable amount of development across the period including things like poems and stories been written, advancements in technology and developments in community.
NUCastle also came into school earlier in the week and introduced the class to Hado - a VR version of dodgeball. The class absolutely lov3 the experience, as did the staff!
Well done to Ashton for being this week’s Star if the Week.
