Kindergarten activities at Edgewood Early Childhood Center
EECC Kindergarten classes are learning about the life cycle of a chicken. Over the next couple of weeks, they will learn more about life cycles and how things grow. This project will culminate in the hatching of their chickens which are currently in incubators in each of the classrooms. For St. Patrick's Day, classes had fun graphing Lucky Charms, sketching blueprints and making leprechaun traps, doing a rainbow experiment with Skittles, and getting a special visit from a Leprechaun.

Edgewood Intermediate School 3rd Quarter Pbis Incentive
EIS celebrated the end of the 3rd quarter with their PBIS Incentive. Through the school-wide positive behavior system, students who earned enough Dojo points were invited to a March Madness staff vs. student basketball game. The top Dojo point earners in each class had the opportunity to play in the basketball game, take part in a free throw challenge, participate in basketball musical chairs, or watch the game in court side seats! The incentive ended with a Rock, Paper, Scissor challenge where a winner was awarded in each grade level. Great job to all of our students for being Responsible, Respectful, and Safe!
Edgewood Middle School Partners with the Cincinnati Zoo
Lindsey Vansandt, Veterinarian and Researcher from the Cincinnati Zoo, came to Edgewood Middle School to talk with Mrs. Spinelli's 6th and 8th grade classes about genetics and body systems in rare and endangered felids (big and small cats). She also works with improving the health and welfare of free-roaming and sheltered domestic cats. She shared many stories and included a bit about her career and how to become a veterinarian. We want to thank her for sharing her knowledge and time with us at EMS.
Edgewood High School Student Chef at Butler Tech's Cafe Lee
On March 9th and 10th, Edgewood High School Senior Teacy Bishop and Northwest Senior Alyssa Sickles planned and prepared the menu for Cafe Lee at Butler Tech. Teacy is a senior in Butler Tech’s culinary arts program. Teacy and Alyssa planned a southern menu with barbecue and grilled pork chops. Doug Geygan, Edgewood High School Principal, tried the pork chop and a side salad. Mr. Geygan was impressed by the quality and presentation of the food. Teacy plans to move south and open a bakery. Great job Teacy!
