2023 Lute Recruits The Pacific Lutheran University football program welcomes 36 new players to Luteville for the fall season.

"Coming off the program's highest finish since 2013 and the most wins since the 2014 season; I believe our staff and players have done a great job and capitalized on that momentum with another great recruiting class in 2023. Our process is deliberately slow and thorough so we can continue to yield the best high school football players that are the right fit for PLU and the championship football program we are working to build,"

-Head Coach Brant McAdams

Offensive Line

"I’m very excited about the OL additions to a position room that has led our offense to the top of the NWC in Rushing in 2021 and Sacks allowed in both 2021 and 2022. This room is going to be very competitive with a talented incoming group and a returning group that does not lose any starters to graduation."

-Head Coach Brant McAdams

Running Backs

"Both of the additions to the RB room are coming from state contending football programs in their states of Washington and Hawaii. We expect these two to step into the RB room and compete right away."

-Head Coach Brant McAdams

Tight Ends

“The most prominent PLU offenses throughout our history have always had a Tight End that adds a championship dimension to the offense. This TE class stacked behind last year’s group will make this the most exciting position battle to watch for in 2023 and beyond.”

- Head Coach Brant McAdams

Fullbacks

“Championship teams find a way to establish the run and the PLU offense has elevated it’s physical run play behind an almost 5-year starter at Fullback. Each year we will look for one player who can come in and make a push to keep the FB position relevant in our offense and today’s game. We’re excited to see Randy step up to that challenge.”

-Head Coach Brant McAdams

Wide Receivers

“We graduate an all conference ‘go-to’ WR from 2022 and this position room will need a group of FY to come in and compete. This is a group that will help us get more physical in perimeter blocking and downfield vertical threat.”

- Head Coach Brant McAdams

Quarterbacks

“Three incoming QBs is a large incoming class for PLU and we let these guys know they would be in a big FY group for their position and they were all eager to compete knowing the QB room would be capped at 6 players. We graduate a 2 year starter at QB and a senior backup that will challenge next year’s room to embrace leadership opportunities early and often. Each of the HS coach recommendations on these QBs as players, teammates, and people was stellar, so I can’t wait to get them here.”

-Head Coach Brant McAdams

Defensive Line

"We made a concerted effort in this year’s DL class to get stronger and longer. This group joins a DL that has been top two in Sacks and TFLs over the last two seasons. This room will be just as competitive as our OL with a talented incoming class and a group of returners that only graduated one starter from last season."

-Head Coach Brant McAdams

Linebackers

"Our LB room has been a lynchpin of our defense for the last couple of seasons and this incoming group of LBs is ready to step up and answer the call to keep moving the boulder up the hill. They are versatile in space, physical downhill players, and great leaders that their teammates can rally around."

-Head Coach Brant McAdams

Defensive Backs

"Our DB unit has the most ground to make up from graduation in 2023. This group of incoming DBs is bringing a lot of speed and technical ability to the table. They are very able to push for opportunities in the two deep and on special teams as soon as they step on campus."

-Head Coach Brant McAdams

Specialists

"David was a standout performer at one of our summer camps and we knew he would be a great addition to a position group that knows we missed too many opportunities to score in the kicking game last year. I expect a great kicking competition in August."
