- 10 were features pieces
- 10 were sports pieces
- Four were lifestyles pieces
- One was an opinion piece
- 11 were multimedia pieces, including five episodes of "History in a Minute"
The following is a visual breakdown of analytics across digital platforms for The Kinkaid Falcon.
In the first semester, the three most-viewed stories excluding archival articles were:
- an article revealing building plans for the coming year
- a multimedia gallery assembled as part of a team report on the "All In" capital campaign
- an article spotlighting the executive digital editor for his selection to an exclusive national journalism board
4463 sessions were initiated, SNO Analytics logged 9513 pageviews from 3369 IP addresses. Areas for improvement include average session duration, which clocked in at an average of 2 minutes 37 seconds, and the average pages per session clocked in at 2.13.
The three focal points for online content at The Falcon this year were bettering, broadening and branding our content. We kept pace with production from fall semester of the 2021-2022 school year, when we produced 46 articles and 3 podcasts. This year, Falcon Live was put on hold to focus on online articles and broadening our multimedia coverage to include items like interactive crosswords and more photo galleries and videos. The podcast is slated to return in the spring semester.
Areas of improvement for staff include timeliness of coverage, increased "soft news" content such as lifestyles and more opinion pieces.
