Eldridge Update winter 2021-2022

The winter was a time of new and developing life for us both physically and spiritually. We say physically because as a family we have been raising four baby goats, seven puppies and six chicks since October. These babies, born here, have all moved on to their new homes now except for the chicks - so young animal life activity slowed down this month. Alida (7) and Eliana (5) started the Honduran school year (February-November) here at our local school. For the first time in two years, Honduras students are attending classes in person. Spiritually, we continue to pursue growth as a couple and family, alongside a deepening discipleship class here in the village of Las Lomitas.

We greatly enjoyed being here for the holiday season. This "winter" we have been blessed with breakthroughs of honest conversations, truth in marriages, and new unity between community leaders. New life, growth, change and holistic development is never easy; it gets messy and tense at times. But, it is a huge part of what we believe God has called us all to while still here on earth - as a part of bringing His kingdom to earth as we are taught to pray. This part of the heart of God and His design for us is revealed through His creation (always growing and changing) and while it is challenging for humans it brings much joy and such a full life!

Kaleb, in his CPHTH role as Program Developer, has wrapped up writing the proposals for each of the seven CPHTH programs and is now working with CPH staff to develop new materials for this year's programing. Coming up for him in the next few months is also the initial research and investigation needed to best facilitate the development of up to two new programs this year. These new programs will likely have to do with sustainable family income and personal transformation. At the local church, he is facilitating Saturday night English classes focused around a Bible verse each week, which have been well-attended.

Stacey in her CPHTH role as Impact Advisor and Evaluator is now working alongside staff facilitators of all programs in implementing the evaluation systems they created together based on Heart to Honduras' seven goals of impact. She also worked along side the Co-Directors to create indicators and evaluation documents for quarterly employee evaluations. At the local church, she recently finished facilitating a sixteen-week course of Emotionally-Healthy Discipleship with more than ten local church members and has already begun the second part at this time.

We had the opportunity to share a summary of our collaborative work at a joint CPH and HTH in person board meeting here in Honduras this March. It is a privilege to be a small part of the restorative, holistic, transformational work God is doing in Honduras. Thank you to each of you for your friendship, support and prayers. A special thanks to those that joined us for the virtual prayer night in February. We felt that time together was Spirit led and we greatly appreciated the gift of time together and prayer that you gave us. May you each be bringing His kingdom to earth exactly where you are and living out His will here on earth as it is in heaven.

With love and appreciation,

Kaleb and Stacey
