This term Y12 Media students from Langley Park School for Girls visited Bromley Picturehouse to take part in a horror film workshop run by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) and Into Film. The BBFC was set up in 1912 at the beginning of cinema. They focus helping people choose films by providing guidance on what’s right for them to watch and what they should avoid.
This engaging workshop focused at the issues surrounding the 'horror' genre and film classification. The talk was illustrated with classic & contemporary horror clips. Students had the opportunity to learn more and ask questions about the BBFC and the classification process covering the common issues that arise.
The legal and ethical considerations involved in Film and TV production are key content areas covered in our Scriptwriting unit as part of our BTEC Creative Digital Media course at LPGS.
