K1: The power of play

In K1, we have been learning to self regulate our emotions, organise ourselves and get along with others. It is great to have all the learners back on campus and to see how they are building their confidence, language and social skills through play.

Y1: Celebrating Chicken Day

Year 1 have been working hard to develop ‘Chicken Day’ which was a unique event the class invented to learn more about the importance of celebrations. The learners put a lot of effort and focus into their Chicken fork paintings. Some beautiful artworks were created. Well done all!

Y4: Wealth and opportunities - In our last unit, we were learning about how rich people have different opportunities than poor people and the concept of equity. Students looked at how people get jobs through connections or hard work and perseverance. We also completed our voting for Udon Thani Mayor and Thailand Prime Minister. The future looks bright in the hands of these budding politicians.
Y7: Allocating resources -  Our Year 7 students were debating in Science on the allocation of Earth’s resources. The official topic was “Earth’s resources should be used to fix the problems on our planet instead of being spent on space exploration.” The debate was won by the group that argued more should be done to save our planet instead of spending our resources on space explorations. The winning group included Eliza, Daewa, Ben, Kevin.

EAL: Describing ourselves

Our learners in Year 5 did a short review on how to describe someone's physical appearance using adjectives. We used characters from famous movies like Shrek, Harry Potter and Rapunzel. We have had different activities to practice the new vocabulary we have been learning. We played our favourite game called 'hot seat' to help us remember the new vocabulary and to improve our speaking and listening skills.

Student success: Okin in Y2/3

In the Year 2 class we are very proud of the efforts that Okin has been making in learning English. She started the year in our EAL class, but she has since been promoted back to the main class. In English she is continuing to show lots of progress and will be moving to a higher ability group soon. Well done Okin for working so hard to achieve this success!

PSPE: Gymnastics and movement - Our PY learners had a chance to learn more about gymnastics movements and yoga during our PE lessons last week. We learned about different gymnastics skills and how to improve them, such as our stretching and balancing skills. In addition, our learners had a chance to not only do the movements but also help their peers to achieve our lessons goals.
