2023-24 SY District Calendar
  • This 2023-2024 Red Clay Consolidated School District Academic Calendar contains important dates and events for the upcoming school year. Slight adjustments may occur and will be promptly communicated.
  • For a complete list of holidays and printable calendars, please visit our district's website: https://www.redclayschools.com.
  • The CCSA Calendar link below provides directions on syncing the CCSA calendar and Block Rotation calendar to your allows for your phone or google calendar.
  • We have a new bell schedule and reviewing some other considerations regarding rotating the third and seventh period.
  • School doors will still open at 6:50 AM.
2023-24 SY Bell Schedule Draft
  • We are considering rotating the 3rd and 7th periods.
  • With consideration to CSW homeroom being adjusted.
  • The Parent and Student Support Contact: Contact List is updated regularly to reflect changes to the contact person who can address our student and staff direct needs.
  • Week At A Glance: Weekly Communication will be provided to give an overview of events and important information for the week ahead.
  • Mid Week Updates: Will be provided when new information needs to be shared to the community.
  • Calloway Dean’s Memo: Monthly communication that will highlight student, school achievements, staffing updates, teaching and learning resources and climate and culture updates, along with student exhibits or performances.
  • Blackboard Communication Tool: We utilize blackboard as a way to send mass communication to the entire school or to specific stakeholders (by grade and parent group).
  • Schoology: Communication about assignments, grades, and extracurricular activities such as fundraisers are accessible on this platform. Parents will have access to Schoology. Students are encouraged to view updates from administration and school counselors.

  • Try out our CCSA mobile app. We trial the mobile app throughout the summer and determine if we will continue to use this service for the upcoming school year.

Assistant Dean of Culture and Climate: Dr. Corey Heacock
  • We are delighted to welcome Dr. Corey Heacock as the new Assistant Dean of Culture and Climate at Cab Calloway School of the Arts. Dr. Heacock brings with her several years of administrative leadership experience and a passion for fostering positive school cultures. Her expertise and dedication will undoubtedly be invaluable to our school community.
  • We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Dawn Downes for her exceptional service to the Cab Calloway School of the Arts community. We are incredibly fortunate to have had her as part of our administrative team. We wish her the very best in her new assignment within the district, knowing that she will continue to make a positive impact.

Cab Calloway Technology Student Association
  • Congratulations to our students and Dr. Rashad Goldsborough for a successful showing at the Cab Calloway School of the Arts Technology Student Association (TSA) National Conference in Louisville, KY
Kenneth Johnson Jr: Lion King Finale
  • We congratulate Kenneth Johnson for a successful Broadway performance as Young Simba during this school year.
National History Day Award Winners

Several students traveled to Washington DC for National History Day National Competitions:

  • 1st and 2nd place students competed at Nationals in Washington D.C. this past June!
  • This was a culmination of months of sustained historical inquiry on student selected topics connected to the theme of Frontiers in History.
  • Anna Winnington- 1st place junior individual documentary entitled “The United States Institute of Peace”
  • Alek Lee- 1st place junior individual paper entitled “The Jungle’s Effect on the Food Industry and Journalistic Activism”
  • Ivy Hoffman & Rose Locke- 1st place senior group exhibit entitled “Better Red Than Dead: The Native American Occupation of Alcatraz”
  • Camryn Brost- 1st place senior individual performance entitled “Radcliffe College: A Frontier in Women’s Higher Education”
  • Michelle Mao- 1st place senior individual website entitled “Better Babies Contests: A Multi-Faceted Frontier of the American Eugenics Movement”
  • Isabela March- 2nd place senior individual website entitled “Maybelle Carter: The Woman on the Frontier of American Guitar”
  • Irwin Wang- 2nd place senior individual exhibit entitled “The Double Helix and Breaking the Genetic Code”
  • Seamus Clark- 3rd place senior individual documentary entitled “The Daughters of Bilitis: The Frontier in Lesbian Organizing”
  • Seamus also won the American Justice Award for the best project across all categories on a topic related to justice in the United States.
  • Ivy and Rose also won the American History Award for the best project across all categories related to a topic in American history.
  • Thank you to Erin Sullivan and Andrew Bedell for their leadership and support.

Cab School Fund Smart Summer Camp

Student Extracurricular Activities
  • Students have until 2:35 PM to wait in the lobby for their ride during cold and inclement weather.
  • The lobby is not for students to loiter for social time.
  • All 6-8 Grade Students are not permitted to leave off campus during after school hours if they are staying for club activities.
  • Attendance will be kept by club advisor or supervising staff.
