Hillsborough wins second title in program history

Tyler, Tx - Hillsborough took home their second national championship title in school history with a team point total of 46. Hillsborough earned runner-up to Tyler Junior College in both the 2021 and 2022 national championships. Their last national title came in 2008, where they defeated Tyler Junior College by only one point with a team total of 45.

Hillsborough took home first place in singles flights No. 3, 4 and 6, and first place in doubles flights No. 1 and 2.

Championship Awards

All-America honors are presented to the champion and runner-up of each flight at the NJCAA DI Women's Tennis Championship. On the 2023 NJCAA DI Women's Tennis All-America team, Hillsborough and Cowley had seven girls each, Tyler and Abraham Baldwin had four girls each, and Seward County had two girls.

Hillsborough head coach Sarah Lytle was named the Coach of the Tournament.
Mississippi Gulf Coast's Bayley Askin received the Jovana Vasic Spirit of Competition Award.

Cowley comes in second

For the first time in program history, Cowley College finished in second place in the NJCAA DI Women's Tennis Championship tournament. The Lady Tigers came up just three points short, losing to Hillsborough 46-43 in team point totals.

Cowley took home first place in singles flights No. 2 and 5. The Tigers also took home second place in singles flights No. 1, 3, and 6, and doubles flight No.2.

Tyler takes home third overall

Reigning National Champions Tyler Junior College finished the national championship tournament in third place with a total team score of 38.

Yeva Kramarova and Zoi Spyrou finished in first place for Tyler in flight No.3 doubles. Yeva Kramarova and Natalia Michta finished in second place for flight No.4 and 5 singles.
