Classroom dedicated to Dr. James "Jim" Rumore, Sr. (LSU 1981)
Nancy Rumore, sons Jimmy Rumore and Chris Rumore (LSU 2015), and members of the Rumore family were joined by friends, classmates, and LSU Vet Med administrators to dedicate the Year III classroom to the memory of Dr. Jim Rumore, Sr., Class of 1981.
“Doc” Rumore lived his passion: helping animals and making friends with clients. He and Nancy opened Acadia Animal Medical Center in Rayne, Louisiana in 1986. Dr. Jim passed away in July of 2020. All who knew him would agree that he took great joy in life, a compassionate healer who loved life and made the most of it.
We are grateful to Nancy, who continues her late husband’s mission by providing the community with quality and affordable veterinary care. Nancy’s generous gift to the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine helps us educate future veterinarians, particularly in rural areas like Rayne. The Rumore family's generosity and leadership will be felt for generations to come.

We are actively seeking patients to participate in clinical trials!
Clinical trial protocols are reviewed by both the Clinical Protocol Review Committee (LSU Vet Med Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences) and LSU’s Institutional Animal and Care Use Committee (IACUC) to ensure that welfare and confidentiality matters are observed. These reviews are patterned on the concept of good clinical practices for conduct of clinical trials in human medicine.
Please follow this link to see the lists of clinical trials.
