• Today at 11 a.m. in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library’s Colonnade, we are welcoming Chancellor John Sharp of The Texas A&M University System to share news of an exciting new partnership with Texas A&M University – Galveston that will offer TAMIU students the future opportunity to join in high-impact student experiences, including internship, learning and research opportunities at sea.
• We’re completing our final arrangements for graduation this Thursday at the Sames Auto Arena. There are two ceremonies, one at 11 a.m. and one at 4 p.m. While we are eager to congratulate our candidates for graduation, we also encourage all students to attend and celebrate with our participants. It happens twice a year and it is magical! Details are below.

• Every day, TAMIU alumni are making a difference. What once began as a classroom assignment for alumna Angelica G. Villarreal (’21) is now a published children’s literature book available through Amazon. Angelica’s story of her son Caleb, a seven-year-old autistic child, serves as the inspiration for her children’s literature book, “My Brother is a Superhero,” published this month. Here's more.
• Students, if you haven’t done so yet, please complete a short survey that gathers your input to help guide our Master Plan team on future recommendations. • Have any family members seeking a summer camp opportunity for children? Check out some of our offerings, ranging from Dusty’s Junior University Summer Camp, and a summer STEM immersion experience, to a Summer Choir Camp, and a Rec Sport Summer Camp. Find out more. Deadlines apply!
• New hours for the on-campus CURATIVE kiosk are as follows: Monday – Thursday: 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday – 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For additional information about on-campus testing and vaccination schedules, go here.
• Let’s continue the use of recommended face coverings/masks, in addition to practicing distancing and rigorous hand-washing.

Ceremony Information for Guests:

• The Sames Auto Arena is a non-smoking venue.
• No noisemakers, strollers, and/or balloons are allowed inside the building.
• No outside food or beverages will be permitted inside of the building.
• Guests, family, and friends will be able to enter through the Main Entrance, Gate B and Gate C ONLY.
• Accessibility areas will be available at the Arena’s Club Level for guests with certain disabilities, such as those who use wheelchairs.

Prior to our upcoming, in-person Commencement Ceremonies, graduating Dustdevils can share their favorite memories or recognize a University faculty member during our annual 'Congrats Grads' social media campaign! TAMIU Fund$Finder Opens Universe of Scholarships with Easy Mobile Access

With a smartphone, TAMIU students can now access thousands of relevant scholarships through “TAMIU Fund$Finder,” a search tool that helps students find scholarships on and off-campus.

To begin, students need only visit go.tamiu.edu/fundSfinder and follow three easy steps:

• Step 1: Log in using Uconnect credentials
• Step 2: Answer matching questions
• Step 3: View individualized matches and apply

TAMIU Athletics Update

TAMIU is a member of the Lone Star Conference and competes in 11 sports: volleyball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, softball, baseball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's golf.
