Artist Statement
These images were made over the last couple of years and were completely unplanned. The idea was to photograph and edit immediately and without pretense or planning. They represent a newfound restlessness and uncertainty for the present and future.
Bio
Reid Elem is a fine art documentary photographer whose recent work establishes the relationship between humans and nature and the intersections of their existence. His body of work, Air Project: Utah, has received local and national attention for uncovering the state of air quality in Utah. He is currently researching and photographing water in the American West while teaching as an Associate Professor of Photography in the Art & Design Department at Utah Valley University.
