welcome to our monthly newsletter

Dear readers,

This issue includes updates on our team, training opportunities, and the opening of new branches as well as a question and answers section with Alert Health 24’s Managing Director, Steve.

We are especially proud to recognise our Employee of the Month for her outstanding qualities and work ethic.

In addition, we are thrilled to announce the opening of a new branch, which we believe will provide exciting opportunities for our staff.

We hope you enjoy reading this edition of the Alert Health 24 Newsletter and wish you all the best for the month ahead.

keeping hydrated

It's been great to enjoy some sunshine this month. As the weather warms up, don't forget to stay hydrated while working. Adding ice, lemon/lime, or raspberries to your water can make it more refreshing and therefore more appealing. Aim to drink plenty of water during your shift, as tea and coffee can dehydrate you and require additional water intake.

employee of the month

We take great pleasure in acknowledging and honouring our Employee of the Month.

A huge congratulations to April's Employee of the Month: Jackie from the South & West Wales Branch.

Claire, our South & West Wales Branch Manager, nominated Jackie for this award to say a massive thank you for all her hard work, and to shout out how amazing she is. Claire said '' I'd like to nominate Jackie who was one of my first staff members. Jackie works full time hours, always picks up last minute shifts, gets on well with any team she is put with, has never pulled out of a shift and is reliable, professional, friendly and flies the flag high for AH24''.

We want to thank Jackie for being such a fantastic and integral part of the Alert Health 24 team. We are incredibly proud of how you are positively impacting so many people's lives!

Claire recently met up with Jackie to give her a huge thank you and present her with her Employee of the Month Certificate.

Thanks once again to Jackie, and Congratulations on being Alert Health 24's Employee of the Month.

alert health 24 is growing

We now have 12 offices across the UK, with our most recent office opening in Yorkshire this week.

We are thrilled to extend our reach to the northern part of the country, driven by the growing demand for our services in the other counties. Yorkshire alone boasts 800 registered care homes, and we are eagerly looking forward to making a positive impact and assisting those in need.

Launching the branch in Yorkshire will be Asif Qadir, a local man, who possesses invaluable knowledge and understanding of the area. With his expertise, we are confident in effectively promoting and delivering our services to the community.

training

This month we held our first Epilepsy Rescue Medication training course in Devon, it was a great, informative day and the training was very well received. If a resident has an epileptic seizure and has rescue medication prescribed, these members of staff are now able to administer medication and therefore stop a seizure in its tracks.

We have exciting plans to organize additional Epilepsy training courses and expand our range of training offerings in the future. To learn more about these upcoming courses and other training opportunities, we encourage you to contact your local branch. They will be able to provide you with the necessary information and assist you further.

Q&A with steve churches

As Alert Health 24 continues to expand, we felt it was important to learn more about our Managing Director, Steve.

1. How long has Alert Health 24 been up and running? Alert Health 24 was founded in September 2019. So, we’re coming up to our 4th year in September.

2. What was your very first job? I think it was probably a paper round. But I also worked in a local pub doing washing up!

3. What did your career path look like? How did you become the managing director of Alert Health 24? Like many people I fell into a recruitment role in 2007. I spent 5 years working for a Driving and Logistics recruitment company, followed by 9 years at a National Healthcare agency. But I always wanted to start my own business incorporating my own values and creating a culture for all to thrive in.

4. What are some of the challenges Alert Health 24 are currently facing? And how do you overcome them? Due to our current Office/Care team’s success, we are experiencing high demand for our services. Keeping up with that demand is a challenge but we are doing very well. We strive to maintain our excellent service by recruiting the best staff only and therefore can ensure that we offer is the best. We have recently increased staff pay, and we have some other exciting plans in the coming months!!

5. Can you share any exciting plans for the future? In terms of expanding services or patient care? We have recently launched our 11th office in Yorkshire, and we have plans to open more offices in the coming months. We are also looking at launching our ‘Care at Home service’. This will enable individuals to receive the care they require in the comfort of their own home.

7. Why would you say Alert Health 24 Is the best healthcare agency to work for? We have an amazing team, who all share our mission of making a positive difference to people’s lives. We are all very serious about this, but we still find the time to have some fun along the way!

8. What would you say you are most proud of? I am very fortunate to see/hear the feedback on our staff and the overall service provided by Alert Health 24. I will never get tired of hearing about the difference our staff are making to people. It’s such a great feeling.

9. What do you like to do in your spare time? I am very lucky to have 3 fantastic children who tend to keep me busy outside of work. But on the odd occasion when I do have some free time I enjoy road cycling, and have been lucky enough to ride in Majorca this year, which was a fantastic experience!

10. If you could be a superhero which superhero would you be? Superman without doubt.

11. If you could be any animal which animal would you be and why? A Pink Flamingo! I’m not sure why I just think they’re really cool!
