EVERY MAN AND WOMAN IS A STAR INSTALLATION

This installation was part of the exhibition Overground World Expo 1993. (Four monitors, video, projector, objects and sound.)

The installation was presented in a narrow room with a high ceiling. A projection screen was placed on the ceiling at a height of 7 meters. The four monitors, placed in the corners of the space, displayed a looped video of people happily waving, taken from a Nazi propaganda film. There were no images of military or political activity or nazi symbols in the sequences. A looped video of a seventeen year old German soldier on a train was rear-projected on the ceiling, showing the young man's struggle to hide his travel sickness and maintain his composure. An original plaster of a bronze sculpture from 1888 was placed in the middle of the room. This installation was part of the Overground World Expo 1993.
