According to the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, about half of all American children do not receive regular dental care due to social, economic, and geographic obstacles.
That’s why it is tremendously important to help safety-net dental organizations provide disadvantaged children with fluoride varnish and dental sealants.
With support from 3M Oral Care, more kids can receive these treatments, which have been proven effective in preventing up to 80% of cavities, so they have a greater chance of growing up with healthy smiles and brighter futures!

For the millions of children living in areas where there simply aren't enough dental care providers, wait times for a dental appointment can be longer than one year!
By then a small cavity can grow to the point when the only course of action is a root canal or an extraction.
That's why preventive services like fluoride varnish and dental sealants are so crucial in underserved communities.
In 2022, our DRP members applied sealants and/or fluoride varnish on the teeth of nearly 300,000 kids!
Support for safety-net clinics and programs can make the difference between having the resources to provide preventive services...or not.
