About the event

There is an increasing appreciation of the role of primary care as a setting for undertaking and recruiting into research. 90% of NHS contacts take place in Primary Care and GP practices provide over 1 million consultations every working day. Primary care is not just GPs, it also includes other services and locations for example NHS Hospice care, pharmacy, schools and prisons. In this forthcoming event colleagues from the following specialties will be sharing their experiences of delivering research in primary care.

  • Hepatology
  • Gastroenterology
  • Respiratory
  • Diabetes

The event will be interactive, with the opportunity through discussion to explore the benefits and address some of the challenges. We aim to learn from one another and come away with a set of realistic actions that will help to address when and how to deliver more research in primary care.

This virtual event will consist of two sessions that explore the topic from different perspectives. Session 1: 9.30-11am primarily for Clinical Trials Units and Sponsors. Session 2: 1-2.30pm primarily for Chief Investigators.

Outputs from the event will be added to this spark and re-shared at a later date.
