Thanks for Jamming, Owls! here are some answers to common creative jam questions

The 2022 Adobe Creative Jam Kick-off Event was a huge success! Our Owls made history as the largest single-university Creative Jam on record. We hope that you now feel inspired to stretch your creative skills and capture your own unique story using Adobe Premiere Rush.

Important Dates to Keep in Mind

  • Working time, March 2 – 18
  • Submission deadline, March 18 at 11:59 p.m
  • Creative Jam Finale, March 23 at 2 p.m. Join us back on the Kennesaw campus (Sturgis Library), Marietta campus (Johnson Library) and via Zoom to hear from the three winners and have a chance to win Adobe swag and door prizes from KSU athletics!

Here's a quick recap of some commonly asked questions as you dive into your project.

Where can I get a copy of the Creative Jam Kick-off recording? A full recording of the Jam Kick-off event, including the Rush bootcamp, is available here. The events gets underway at minute 20:00.

Where can I find details about the video project and this year's theme? The project guidelines can be found here.

How do I download Adobe Premiere Rush? Rush is FREE to all KSU students thanks to a special partnership between KSU and Adobe! Click on KSU's Creative Hub website to download your free Adobe Creative Cloud license today.

Where can I get more resources on Premiere Rush?

What if I need help with a specific part of my project? You can reach out to us at creativejam@kennesaw.edu or stop by one of our on-campus drop-in sessions, which will be held in the Sturgis Library, Room #114. We are also working on setting up a drop-in session that will be held in the Johnson library.

  • Tuesday, March 15 from noon to 2 p.m. / Marietta campus - Johnson Library

I want to post to social while I work. What hashtag should I use? #ksuowljam. Everyone who posts or tweets about their creative process or work will be entered into a drawing to win a mobile phone lens kit, which is valued at $25! The winner will be announced at our Jam Finale on Wednesday, March 23 at 2 p.m.

How do I submit my video? You will upload your video via a shared OneDrive link. Keep in mind:

  • You must submit your video as an Mp4 file
  • Your video submission must be roughly 60 seconds in length
  • You must use copyright free video and audio
  • Use this link to upload your Creative Jam video submission

How do I earn the new micro-credential badge in Digital Storytelling With Adobe Premiere Rush? All Jam participants who submit a video by the submission deadline (Friday, March 18 at 11:59 p.m.) to the OneDrive link above will be eligible for the new badge. Submissions will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • How well does the video solve the presented topic?
  • How clear is the point of view and message?
  • How well do the elements (music, sound effects, visuals, etc.) complement the idea?
  • How well does the video production match its message?

How will I know if I am one of the three overall Jam winners? You will be contacted on Monday, March 21, 2022 and invited to join the Finale live in the Sturgis Library on Wednesday, March 23 at 2 p.m. to share your work with your fellow Owls.

What do the three winners receive? The three campus winners will receive an Adobe backpack full of great prizes, a mobile phone lens kit (valued at $25), a gift from the KSU Bookstore, and a micro-credential badge of distinction for exceptional work in digital storytelling.
