Term 1, week 8

In English this week, we have been learning all about Limerick poems. We started off with a poem investigation! The class searched the classroom reading all the different poems and deciding if they were Limerick poems or not. We then spent the rest of the week rhyming words and trying to create our Limerick poems.
In PE, the class had a great lesson playing football and practicing different skills before enjoying a match.
We spent a lot of time this week learning about our RE topic, ‘What makes us human?’ The class completed many activities, with their favourite being a discussion about Buddhist meditation. We created a group mindmap, using our own ideas and knowledge from the video. Mrs Hynds even came to be part of our lesson!
On Friday, the class completed a problem solving challenge. They come in from break and the number square had fallen on the carpet! As a class, we had to work together to find the quickest and easiest solution to putting the numbers back in the correct place. Firstly, they worked in threes to test their ideas on a paper number square. They had to put the numbers back in the number square, in the right order, as quick as possible. To do this, the groups had to work systematically and reason logically. We then finished the lesson by agreeing on the best option overall and completing the class number square!
